These were probably intended as monteiths, or wine rinsers, but in today's world they serve well as containers for arrangements of fruit and flowers. We displayed them at a show with fruit, and thought they looked pretty spiffy.

French, with landscapes painted front and back, circa 1820. Handle to handle length is 14." They are in great condition, retaining all of their original decoration.
