The two sides of this tea canister depict classical scenes. They are both described in "Prattware" by Griselda Lewis: An Offering to Ceres, and An Offering to Peace.

The silver cover fits perfectly into the neck, and is hallmarked; to the best that I can determine, the hallmarks are from Chester, made in 1808.
