This magnificent oil on canvas was part of a world class collection of art, which for generations hung at Haussners, the iconic German restaurant in Baltimore.
It is unsigned, but the artist knew how to paint children and animals, and was able to capture the boy's exuberant return from the hunt in a memorable fashion. It is in a new gold frame, and the sight size is 24" by 29". The canvas is stamped by New York's premier colorman of the 19th century, Edward Dechaux.
Mid 19th century.
