With the exception of the engraved brasses, this piece is totally original. Made of white pine, the original surface has never been repainted. There are three drawers beneath three simulated ones (a nice place to store all those sweaters, etc.).
The cotter pin hinges have never been changed. It has excellent proportions: just 37Ë wide, 18Ëdeep and 53Ëtall. Similar chests can be seen at Historic Deerfield Circa 1790 |
