This is a rare, useful and desirable Pennsylvania (possibly Philadelphia) form, made around 1790. It displays the best features of the Chippendale style including fluted quarter columns top and bottom, an ogee bracket base, nicely figured walnut, and original brasses.
It is a pleasing small size (72" tall, 21" deep, and just 27" wide). The piece remains in virtually mint condition in the original finish, with just the right side waist molding replaced.
A delightful way to display that cherished collection of Chinese snuff bottles, or to house those especially rare books.
