There is much writing on the back of this lovely miniature portrait, but it is difficult to figure out exactly what it says. We do know that the husband had this taken on his wife's birthday, which was 8th January, and they were with a bunch of other people who were in the military, and the bottom has the date of September 14th, 1836.

It is in its original frame, and measures 4½" x 5¼" overall.
