This framed portrait of a gentleman was painted c. 1810 and depicts a fine gentleman. It was no doubt created for and presented to a special lady, as the frame is surrounded by French Paste jewels and it has an accompanying necklace of the same material so that it gracefully encircles the neck. The necklace measures 16" and the portrait is 2" x 1 5/8".
