The inspiration for American sack-back Windsors can be traced to British chairs like this example dating from circa 1790.

The condition is untouched with much of the original paint intact. We love the D-shaped seat, which has lost its paint from years of British tushies sitting on it, and now you can see the wonderful graining of the wood.
