This adorable child is watercolor on ivory, and there is a signature on the reverse. Sadly, we can't quite make out the last name, but it looks like it says "Gregory C...... Painter Burlington Arcade Piccadilly."

A little research tells us that Burlington Arcade, a posh glass-enclosed shopping street in London (still going!) opened in 1819, making this piece date from that year or slightly later.

In excellent condition, and in its original frame. Overall measurements are 4" by 4&frac58".
