Somewhere along the way, this simple yet artful silhouette of a young woman was thought enough of to be placed in a fancy French frame. We love the contrast!

It measures about 7" by 7". Circa 1820.

The silhouette had a ratty (very ratty) red mat which we had replaced. Probably done at the same time that the silhouette was placed in its fancy frame.
