This pearlware shelledge plate is nearly identical to the one pictured in "Painted in Blue" by Lois Roberts, page 90, Figure 142. It is attributed to one of the Liverpool potteries, and is distinctive with its sponged trees and leaning fence in the foreground. Late 18th century. 7½" diameter. |
