What do we call these?

They’re plank seat chairs. Pillowback chairs. Fancy chairs. Windsor chairs. Hitchcock chairs? We’ll just call them fabulous chairs.

Note the pierced front stretchers and back splats, the shaped seats, the turnings on the legs and the wonderful, original paint decorated surfaces.

These are in superb condition and date from c. 1825. Origin is mid Atlantic, and possibly Baltimore.
