Painted Silhouette on Plaster |
This type of silhouette was painted in the 18th and early 19th centuries in England. Many of these silhouettes were painted by Miers, or his successor Field. This one is not signed, but we can date him to the correct period, and we know he was painted by a skilled silhouette artist. He retains his original glass eglomise mat, and a vibrant red frame. 5½" x 6½" overall. |
