This wonderful little basket is made from whale ivory and baleen. It has initials carved on each of the removable lids, and the handle is inlaid with a strip of baleen. The only replacement is the ribbon used to secure the handle onto the body.

Very feminine! It was once a lovely gift for a sailor's sweetheart, and can easily serve that purpose again.
