Roundabout chairs are among the most comfortable of all. They are also called corner chairs or drunkard’s chairs (because they won’t tip over if the occupant is tipsy).

This country example from Massachusetts dates from the mid 18th century and retains its original salmon stain, original feet, and original painted splint seat. There appear to be no breaks or replaced parts.
