Born in Georgia in 1859, Zang was active in Yosemite and along the Hudson River by the 1880s. He specialized in snow and winter scenes. Examples of his work can be seen in the Wadsworth Athenaeum (Hartford), and he was featured in The Magazine Antiques in the 1970s.
