The English loved tea caddies in the form of fruit. We have heard that the apples were carved out of applewood, pears out of pearwood, etc. (but we wonder what the melons and pineapples were carved out of...). This apple has been enhanced with a red color on the outside.

It stands 4½" tall, and retains its original steel hinge and escutcheon.
