The story we have heard (correct me if it's wrong!) is that because tea was so precious, many of this small-sized teapots were made for just one cup of tea. Others say it is from a child's teaset. We don't know, but we do find this to be a delightful size, measuring only 3" tall and 6" spout to handle.

It is in excellent condition, and dates from circa 1800.
