An interesting sampler by Mary Vowles. Interspersed with her pious verses, she has stitched trees, people, animals, and a very large pot of carnations. Note the folky strawberry border.

The sampler measures 20" x 15" overall. There is a slight bit of moth damage on the lower left, but nothing to detract from the charm of this childhood creation.
