The story of Uncle Tom was so popular that the Staffordshire potters made figures, plates and mugs with scenes from the book.

This Staffordshire figure depicts Uncle Tom trying to write a letter under the tutelage of Eva. It is in good conditon, with no restoration or breaks. It stands 7 1/2" tall.
