A 19th century brass ships clock by Seth Thomas of Connecticut, having an outside bell. The clock works on the eight bell system, which starts with one bell at 12:30, and adds a bell every half hour until eight bells chime at 4:00. It begins again at 4:30, and continues through four hour cycles. This system originated on ships to mark the half hours of a four-hour watch. The clock is in good running order.
