This demure lady must have been thrilled when she was able to acquire her Chinoiserie corner cabinet. She is so pleased with it that there is nothing else in the picture to detract from it. She sits quietly in her wooden chair with only a handkerchief in her lap.

The paper is watermarked 1828. Aside from that, we do not know who she is or where this portrait was painted. We do know that she is absolutely charming.
