This creamware plate was made in England and sent to Holland to be decorated. It dates from circa 1770-80.

The Biblical verse is Matthew 13:44, which reads, "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field." (Kind of like collecting antiques, I think....)

Note the heart shaped shovel! 8" diameter, with a couple of small edge chips.
