 SOLD Prattware Bird Whistle

An unusual whistle in the form of a bird with interesting yellow and brown wings. The molding on this piece is quite detailed (look at the base and the feet) but the painting is a bit more naive. The whistle give a very piercing high-pitched sound. It stands 3ΒΌ" tall. There is minor restoration to the whistle section of the tail, which was broken off and restored professionally. It definitely didn't detract from the clarity of the tone! Circa 1810. |
